Bakersfield Tennis Open Alumni

The Bakersfield Tennis Open has produced alumni with ever increasing world rank. As of the end of 2019, nine alumni were ranked in the ITF’s top 100 and five alumni were ranked in the Association of Tennis Professionals’ (ATP) top 100. The 2019 US Open Singles and Doubles main draws included 17 players who have previously played in the Bakersfield Tennis Open. Casper Ruud of Norway played the Doubles Round of 16 and Dominik Koepfer lost to eventual finalist Medvedev in the Singles Round of 16. The first Bakersfield Tennis Open Champion, Taylor Fritz, has played in every Grand Slam in a calendar year. Frances Tiafoe, 2015’s Bakersfield Tennis Open Champion, is the youngest American ranked in the Top 50 by the ATP and has a career-high ranking of No. 29 in the world.
