Bakersfield Tennis Open Alumni

The Bakersfield Tennis Open has produced alumni with ever increasing world rank. As of the end of 2021, the ten alumni pictured above are currently ranked in the Association of Tennis Professionals’ (ATP) top 100. The 2019 US Open Singles and Doubles main draws included 17 players who have previously played in the Bakersfield Tennis Open. Casper Ruud of Norway has won 6 ATP tournament titles and is considered one of the most promising players of his generation. Hubert Hurkacz is the highest-ranked Polish man in singles history and has won four ATP Tour singles titles, including a Masters 1000 title at the 2021 Miami Open. With his very successful 2021 season Taylor Fritz has become the #1 ranked American singles player. Frances Tiafoe, 2015’s Bakersfield Tennis Open Champion, had one of his greatest career wins in the first round of Wimbledon in 2021, beating world No.4 Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets to gain his first win against a top-5 player. Also this year Jensen Brooksby, 2019’s Bakersfield Open Champion, won 3 challenger events and reached his first ATP tour final at the 2021 Hall of Fame Open in Newport.
